LEA Curriculum

Here are some of the latest workshop modules we've developed at Leading Edge Associates. For more information contact Larry Olmstead, , (408) 997-2905.

Workshop Modules:

  • Leadership Strategies for Innovation

This workshop, based on our own research and best practices from leading companies, equips participants with strategies for creating and maintaining an innovative culture and work environment. Participants learn that innovation is not simply creative thought; for the most effective organizations, it is accomplished through processes that are at once fun, inclusive, disciplined and rigorous. This workshop includes several highly interactive exercises and a video case study. The ideal workshop is four hours, but it can be customized for two to eight hours.

  • Leading the Digital Transformation

To successfully lead an integration of the print and digital platforms, managers must understand new technology and its potential applications - but that's not enough. They also must know how to create and supervise a new culture. Working in a lab environment, participants in this brand-new training will hear about the latest trends globally in new media, including the increasing use of social networking tools. They will get hands-on practice in creating content and services using the new tools, and gain tips and tools for managing their workforce in the exciting, fast-paced digital world. This training ideally is 2-3 days, although we can customize it to a one-day version.

  • Customer Focus

This workshop is based on our own research and a review of best practices. Participants learn that the ability to focus their employees on the needs of customers and the marketplace - rather than on internal issues and concerns - is a key to success in this era of wrenching change. Leading companies have learned that good customer service is no longer enough. A more intimate dialogue with customers is called for, touching every phase of the development cycle for products and services. Participants will learn 10 key managerial behaviors that will drive results in this area. The ideal workshop is a half-day.

  • Leading through Disruptive Change

Again based on our own research and collaboration with many organizations, this training identifies the 10 key competencies - skills, behavior and traits - needed by managers to guide their organizations through disruptive change. Participants will learn how the current change environment differs from the past and work on specific skills for surviving and thriving in the new order. As an option, participants can utilize a powerful online assessment tool that looks at their individual personality characteristics and measures them against the new competencies. In the longer version of this workshop, participants learn how to assess the change readiness of their organization and how to design change initiatives so they have a better chance of success. They will leave with an action plan for developing their skills and better managing their people. This workshop can be anywhere from two hours to two days, depending on the needs of the customer.

  • Strategic Diversity

This workshop is targeted at senior executives and human resources practitioners. It provides tools for putting diversity/inclusion issues at the table as a strategic issue. Using an executive coaching model, we help participants develop strategies for pushing the diversity ethic deeper into the company. The key is connecting diversity to the key strategic goals of the organization. This workshop is highly interactive and uses personal and organizational assessment tools, case studies and role plays. The ideal workshop is a full day.

  • Driving Results for Diversity

This workshop will be helpful for any supervisor in your workplace, and front-line employees too, especially those on diversity committees and affinity/employee resource groups. Building on the strategic model, participants learn how to manage so that diversity/inclusion initiatives yield bottom-line results. We teach the five key levers for producing results with diversity. Participants work with case studies, look at best practices, and use assessment tools. Participants will leave with an action plan for enhancing their own skills and for moving the company forward.
